Central Quay, Cardiff

Set within the site of the former Brains Brewery, Central Quay is a landmark, mixed use waterfront regeneration scheme, completed in 2026.

We were tasked with designing and supplying seating units from our robust Mount collection, a huge expanse of low-level planting courtesy of our Plantapanel and Plantabox solutions, and by far the biggest Elements Pergola we’ve ever built! Additional items included walkway edgings, bespoke cycle stands, bollards and litter bins.

Although relatively simply in layout, the Plantapanel units were installed on varied surfaces and across some acute level changes, which had to be seamlessly implemented in the final finish. All units are entirely freestanding using our structurally certified ballast plate system.

Our staple Mount seating was utilised throughout the site in straight and curved arrangements, with a series of anti-skate notches machined into the timber slats.

Our aluminium Elements Pergola dominates the 2nd level terrace, with static sun-shading louvres and a wall of stainless steel tensile wires for climbing plants.
