Our client’s installation looks effortless on these 3 massive, 13 metre-long podium seats, but we know it was probably as challenging as the design. Each unit features a modular aluminium subframe, engineered to support the seat and fascia panels, but also adhere to incredibly precise, existing ground levels on site. The frame used telescopic stanchions and 100s of uniquely tailored, laser-cut panels to sit seamlessly on the finished flooring.

Two of the units feature a narrow bench run with a large, backed platform at each end providing a huge range of functionality. The third unit had a platform at one end with an integrated picnic table area at the other, which was a variation of our standard Central collection seating.

In addition to the podium seating we were also asked to design and manufacture a number of stools and chairs (pictured below) made from solid steel plate, folded into an attractive and comfortable profile, and like the podiums, clad in quality sapele hardwood timbers.

Our final addition were some bespoke aluminium wayfinding signs to mark Route 21 of the National Cycle Network. These were powder to coated to match the rest of the furniture, and straddled some gabion basket retaining walls dotted around the site.
